Exercise 1:   

a)   Work out by yourself the multiplication table for the set of operations C2v.

b)   Explain the following statement: An object having an improper rotational axis Sn, where n  is odd, must necessary also have a Cn  axis coinciding with the Sn axis and a symmetry plane σh perpendicular to the Sn axis. Is this statement correct for even values of n?
