In may 2009 we were again visited by the nursery school "Kindertagesstätte Grünewaldstraße". Our research was demonstrated in an appropriate way for children. The focus was on how plants are able to grow and to produce sugar out of light, water, soil and air.

Just adding light, soil and air to water is not sufficient to produce sugar like plants even by stirring the solution. A second focus of the explanations was about the characteristics of the air in the atmosphere. While plants need carbon dioxide, human beings breathe oxygen. In our presentation we used helium and sulfor hexa fluoride for demonstrating the different physical properties of gases.
