Inversion i

Inversion relates any position within space with one point which lies at equal distance on the prolongation of the connecting line line between the point and a centre of inversion. If, applied to a molecule, this operation yields an image with no differences to the original, the symmetry operation i for inversion is a feature in a classification of the molecule.
